This website is managed and operated by Bay Area Movers. Please read this Agreement carefully before proceeding to our website. By accessing our website, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. Bay Area Movers offers this website including all information, tools and services to you contingent upon your acceptance of our terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here within this Agreement.

By visiting our site or purchasing services from us, you consent to our terms and conditions and agree to be bound by the following policy and all terms and conditions referenced herein or available by hyperlink. These terms apply to all users of this site including without limitations to all browsers, vendors, merchants, customers, and contributors of content.

Before accessing our website or using our services, please read the following terms of service. You must agree to be bound by our terms before using our services and accessing our website. If you do not agree to our terms and conditions, you are not permitted to use this website or any of our services.

We reserve the right to change, replace or update the Bay Area Movers website and all of the following terms and conditions. It is the user’s responsibility to check this page for periodic changes. Your continued use of this website or services following any alterations made constitutes your consent to the changes made.
Phone & Online Estimates

Your accuracy is important when providing an item list to Bay Area Movers. Based on the item list given, we can determine the manual labor needed and the hours we must put in to complete the job. Our estimates are subject to increases when a customer adds more items in the days leading up to the move or decides to add-on or change services.

Rescheduling & Cancellations

At least a 48 hour notice is required if you wish to cancel or reschedule your moving services. Cancellations and reschedules made after the 48 hour period are subject to fees made payable to Bay Area Movers.

Additional Charges

Extra items, pickups, deliveries, removals, and/or door replacements may be subjected to additional charges. Packing done at the request of the customer and any other services not initially included in the original Agreement yet carried out during the moving process may also be subjected to additional charges.

Heavy Furniture & Bulky Items

Pool tables, riding mowers, heavy equipment, safes, pianos, hot tubs, vehicles, and other such items will be subjected to “bulk” fees which are additional to the fees originally charged for services.

Jewelry, Valuables & Firearms

Bay Area Movers is not liable for any jewelry, medicine, documents or any other valuable items. Any firearms must be removed from the home before the movers arrive.

Poor Weather Conditions

We reserve the right to reschedule due to poor weather conditions. We will make the strongest effort to adhere to the scheduled moving date otherwise. If we adhere to the original date of services and items are damaged due to inclement weather, we are not responsible. At additional costs, our crew is able to assist with snow and ice removal.

Arrival Times

Bay Area Movers will give an estimated time of arrival. We will do everything we can to ensure we are there within that window. If our crew is running late, we will call to inform you. You can call us at (408) 659-2190 if you have any concerns on moving day.

Our Packing Services and the Stipulations for Packing on Your Own

Bay Area Movers recommends to all customers are full packing services. This assures proper packing and a safer move. If items are not packaged properly, we must package them properly for you and this will lead to additional fees. Appliances and electronics are best being packaged in their original packaging or in secure boxes large enough to fit them.

We carry all of the highest quality packaging materials if you do decide to pack belongings on your own. Everything must be properly packed in boxes and labeled clearly. Boxes containing breakables must be labeled as “Fragile.”

Any furniture made of press wood or particle board containing drawers must be completely emptied. Two drawer cabinets can remain packed as long as they are taped to secure the drawers. You may keep clothes in dresser drawers as long as the drawers are secured shut.

Elevators, Stairways and Street Permits

Customers living in an apartment, dorm, military base, or other regulated community or sorts, must get permission from management or other authority figure to use the elevator, stairways and parking lots. Find out the rules for moving in or out of the facility. If our crew must park the truck in the street, you may need to get a city permit. This permit must be presented on moving day as well as any other documents.

Damages

Before the movers start loading the truck on the day scheduled, they will conduct a walkthrough to make sure all entryways are clear and items are packed properly. At this time they will inform you if they notice poorly packaged items or furniture that must be disassembled. It is your responsibility to correct these issues or the movers can do so for an additional charge. Bay Area Movers is NOT liable to cover or reimburse customers for any items damaged that weren’t originally packaged by us or with our materials.

When all items are ready to go, the move will take place. If any items are damaged during the time the items are in the care of the movers, inform us within 60 days from the day the moving services began. Bay Area Movers does provide insurance coverage within limitations. As stated in our contract, any damages will be cared for accordingly. We cannot honor claims for damages until moving services have been paid in full.

Right of Refusal

Bay Area Movers reserves the right to refuse services for any circumstance that could lead to dangerous, unsanitary or abusive situations. If we decide to reserve this right, we will not be held responsible for any consequential damages or to any individual.
